Ongoing Opportunities

Serve on the Board or a Committee

Our Board of Directors is a working board. As a board member you will be expected to make a 3 year commitment and attend meetings, communicate regularly with other board members and/or committee members, organize or participate in events, assist with the day-to-day operation of the organization through a specific role, fundraise, be a positive ambassador for the organization in the community.

As a committee member, you will assist with a specific project or piece of the organization with a commitment to serve for one year. You will work directly with the Chair of the Committee (generally a board member) and assist as needed in a hands-on capacity toward a specific goal or objective. Committees are in the process of being formed. Check back soon for a list of available committees.

Volunteer with Drew's Bookshelf

Drew's Bookshelf is an initiative that puts free books in the hands of local youth in need. Bookshelves are currently located at the Waukee Community Closet and Waukee Area Christian Services food pantry. Books are also distributed through Little Free Libraries in specific neighborhoods and through community events.

Volunteer by collecting and donating new or like new books (baby through high school levels), sort and label books with a Drew's Crew sticker, distribute books to various locations throughout the Waukee Community School District.

In addition we are currently looking for a volunteer to manage the Drew's Bookshelf initiative on a long-term basis.

Host a Fundraising Event

Ideas for hosting a fundraising event include:

1. Asking for donations to Drew's Crew instead of gifts at a birthday party

2. Hold a lemonade stand or garage sale and donate the proceeds to Drew's Crew

3. Participate in a race and ask people to make donations to Drew's Crew to sponsor you

4. Host a party benefitting Drew's Crew

Have a different idea? Contact us and let us know what it is!

Host an Equipment/Supplies Drive

Drew's Crew provides any participant who needs it, the equipment and supplies required or desired to participate in activities. If you or your group would like to host a drive to collect equipment or supplies, please contact us to find out our current needs. Due to limited storage space we only accept new or like new items and only with prior approval. Examples of items needed at various times include sports equipment (excluding safety items), musical instruments, art supplies, sports bags, sport water bottles.
